Three Christian Kids Audio Programs for Screen-Free Entertainment
"I'm bored!" Once kids get off their ipads or video games, we often hear this. Even when they have toys to play with, sometimes our children really don't know what to do with themselves.
Sometimes it's nice to have zero-screen time when all of the moving pictures are turned off and kids can pull up a coloring book, a puzzle, or even just a blanket on the couch and listen to a program old fashioned style.
Our go-tos in my house both for at home and in the car are below.
Adventures in Odyssey:
This program has been on since I was a child. It used to be a radio show but now you can get it on CDs or streaming access to all of the episodes for about $9.99 depending on where you live. Adventures in Odyssey episodes are primarily geared towards children 8-12 years old, but really the whole family can enjoy them.
There are a few more intense episodes here and there about bullies, bad influences, etc. so just read the episode description first.
Official Description:
Adventures in Odyssey teaches lasting truths and bring biblical principles to life, with just the right balance of fun, faith and imagination. Through story-telling and faith-building entertainment, your child will grow closer to Jesus as they listen to audio stories brought to life by Whit, Connie, Wooton and friends in the friendly town of Odyssey.
I suggest using their free trial to see if your kids can get into it and then subscribing if they like it. My kids LOVE it.

Paws & Tales
A good friend of mine introduced my family to Paws & Tails. My 10-year old loves it the most out of all my kids. It's great for children aged 4-12 with some wiggle room there.
Offical Description:
Paws & Tales, also known as The Wildwood Adventures is a Christian children's radio drama, animated series, and online games website created by Insight for Living and Chuck Swindoll. It is based upon the book Paw Paw Chuck's Big Ideas in the Bible, by Chuck Swindoll and Ross Vera.
Paws & Tales is set in the fictional town of Wildwood, at the base of Wild Mountain and about two miles east of the "Bay of Tranquility". The characters are all anthropomorphic animals, and the technology level is about equivalent to the early 20th century.
There is no cost to listen to Paws & Tales.

Truth Seekers Podcast:
The Truth Seekers Podcast is the best Bible stories podcast for children I've come across. It's geared toward children aged 4-12, but I've enjoyed listening to it right alongside my kids in the car.
It's hosted by a woman named Sherilyn Grant, a mom with a big heart and a gift for storytelling.
The stories are presented in a dynamic but relaxing format making it perfect for bedtime listening.
Give it a try, you won't regret it.
